Dr. Ferdousi Akter, Executive Director and Founder of CMG Research International Ltd., served as the National Consultant for this UNFPA-commissioned rapid midterm assessment. The assignment examined the progress and effectiveness of a program aimed at improving menstrual health management among adolescent girls and women. As part of the assessment team, she contributed national and contextual expertise to evaluate program implementation, emerging results, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
The evaluation examined the program’s relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, coordination, coverage, coherence, and connectedness. Ferdousi contributed national and contextual expertise to the assessment process, including contextualizing evaluation questions and tools, stakeholder consultation, qualitative data collection, interpretation of findings, and validation of evidence.
The evaluation used a mixed-methods approach that combined document review, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and program data analysis. Ferdousi’s contributions supported the development of evidence-based findings, lessons, and practical recommendations to strengthen gender-based violence programming and improve responsiveness to the needs of women, girls, and other vulnerable groups in humanitarian settings.
