Lived Narratives is an initiative of CMG Research International Ltd., developed from CMG’s commitment to advancing understanding of community, migration and gender through literature, dialogue and research. The project reflects CMG’s vision of creating inclusive spaces where underrepresented voices and lived experiences can be heard, recognised and meaningfully discussed.
The initiative is dedicated to promoting books that explore the interconnected themes of community, migration and gender. It seeks to amplify the voices and lived experiences of underrepresented and marginalised communities, particularly authors whose stories may otherwise remain unheard.
By bringing these books to wider audiences, Lived Narratives creates a platform where personal experiences, community realities and social issues can be recognised, discussed and better understood.
At the heart of the initiative are inclusive reading circles involving students, media representatives, development practitioners and researchers. These sessions provide participants with opportunities to engage critically with selected books, exchange perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of the communities and issues represented in them.
Alongside the reading circles, the project incorporates a research component to assess changes in participants’ knowledge, perceptions and understanding before and after their participation. Through this approach, Lived Narratives combines literature, dialogue and research to encourage meaningful learning, strengthen social awareness and ensure that the voices of underrepresented communities reach a broader audience.
