Dr. Ferdousi Akter, Executive Director and Founder of CMG Research International Ltd., served as the National Consultant on this independent evaluation alongside Silvia Guglielmi, International Consultant. The assignment reviewed a humanitarian program focused on strengthening gender equality and social inclusion and preventing and responding to gender-based violence.
The evaluation examined the program’s overall performance, responsiveness to community needs, and contribution to more inclusive and gender-responsive humanitarian support. It was intended to strengthen accountability, support organizational learning, and inform future program planning.
As National Consultant, Ferdousi Akter contributed national and contextual expertise to the evaluation process. Her involvement supported engagement with relevant stakeholders, interpretation of program realities, and the development of findings and recommendations that reflected the social, institutional, and humanitarian context of Bangladesh. The evaluation applied a mixed-methods approach, combining document review, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and program data analysis. The process followed recognized evaluation principles, including confidentiality, informed consent, safeguarding, inclusivity, data triangulation, and respect for cultural and social sensitivities.
Her contribution supported the assessment of program performance in relation to community needs, gender equality, social inclusion, service delivery, coordination mechanisms, and the sustainability of program results. The assignment also drew on community and stakeholder perspectives to ensure the findings reflected both institutional evidence and implementation realities.
